The 2nd edition of the Kāpiti Coast Arts Guide was launched by Kāpiti Coast Mayor Jenny Rowan at a function at Mahara Gallery in December 2007.
This second edition of the Kāpiti Coast Arts is a timely publication as the original version was published in 2004 and a number of new galleries and studios have opened since then.
From the Mayors speech…
"The Arts Guide may not be the definitive guide to all artists in Kāpiti but it does represent 29 fantastic artists, studios and galleries who have stepped up to the plate and made the commitment to be profiled nationally. The participants have realised that their financial investment in the Arts Guide is an investment in raising their profile, generating income, and a major contribution to the awareness of both locals and visitors that Kapiti is a creative destination of which we are very proud."
The Guide is in the process of being distributed nationally through Information Centres and it is available locally in the following venues
- Paraparaumu Library
- Waikanae Library
- Ōtaki Library
- Nature Coast Information centres
- Kāpiti Coast District Council offices
- Mahara Gallery
- Participating galleries and studios.
