It’s that time again! The 9th annual Arts Trail provides a showcase for artists living and working on the Kāpiti Coast, from Paekākāriki though to Ōtaki.
This year there are some wonderful other arts-related events and workshops on during the Arts Trail Weekend. There is also a coach tour available to take you round some of the art venues. You’ll need to book for some of these, so go to Other Events for more information.
Brochures are available from Kāpiti Coast District Council Libraries and Customer Service Desks, Nature Coast i-sites, galleries, artists’ studios and cafes around the region.
All venues are open both days from 10am to 4pm unless otherwise marked.
There are a huge number of artists and exhibition spaces to visit – so plan your trip now! For detailed directions, do take a detailed street map, or look them up on http://www.kapiticoast.govt.nz/GettingAbout/StreetMaps.htm or
http://maps.google.co.nz/
This year we are trialling a Google map view of the Arts Trail. It is an experiment so do treat it as an indicative guide. We hope it is helpful. http://alturl.com/5e7q
Each participating venue has a colourful flag to highlight the venue from the road.
Those described as “Artist in Studio” have indicated that the artist will be present, so you can meet and discuss their work and their process.
The Kāpiti Coast District Council wishes to thank: participating artists and galleries for their enthusiasm and contribution to the cultural richness of the Kāpiti Coast; and to all the visitors who make the Arts Trail weekend the fun and successful event that it is. Enjoy!
