NZ International Arts Festival 26 February - 21 March

The NZ International Arts Festival offers 3 events on the Kāpiti Coast

Exciting new partnership

An exciting new partnership between Kāpiti Coast District Libraries and English Language Partners (Horowhenua-Kāpiti) will see benefits for English language students and their tutors in the district.

English Language Partners has many tutors in both Kāpiti and Horowhenua but the only teaching resource collection is the Levin office. Now the group  is offering part of its collection of English language material on permanent long term loan to Paraparaumu Library. “We want our tutors and English learners to have easier access to good resources. We’re also happy for any other library members  to use them to improve their literacy skills,” says David Harris, co-ordinator of English Language Partners. He is only aware of one other library, Marlborough District Library, that shares this kind of arrangement. The group will continue to add to the collection housed at the library.

“This collection will complement our own collection of Adult Literacy material and Paraparaumu Library is a great facility for tutors and students to work together,’ says Information Services Librarian Kaye Foran. items will be on the shelf by late February.

Kāpiti Coast District Libraries is looking to develop a Foreign Language Collection in the near future which will sit alongside the Adult Literacy Collection offering even more resources to people from other cultures.
