A monthly newsletter featuring news and events for all the arts in Kāpiti.
Dear all
We hope to have our fabulous ARTbeat Newsletter back in production shortly. In the meantime some brief notices for all:
- Mahara Place Easter Market – Waikanae, 3rd April 2010.
The team at Waikanae Library are keen to be involved in the revival of the Easter Market in Mahara Place and are calling for expressions of interest from stallholders.
They say:
“Any venture like this needs to be self-supporting to be sustainable, and our intention is that the stallholder site fees cover all the promotion and site costs. We want to get enough stalls to (at least) fill the main square area, which will create a market atmosphere. To keep it simple (and given the short lead in time) we are not proposing to organize any entertainment or prizes. Hopefully a few talented buskers will take advantage of the event, and we will direct these if necessary.
At this stage we don’t propose to have a theme – we will consider all stall site applicants. Ideally, we would want to support local ventures – be they art, craft, or other goods and services. Non-profit organizations fundraising can be an attraction, but we will try to avoid putting a cake stall outside the bakeries.
And we have the support of the Waikanae Community Board. Information for stall holders is available. For any further information or feedback, please contact us at the Waikanae Library & Service Centre.”
